Author’s Note: The winnowing process of 2020 Presidential candidates has halved the field after the initial summer debates. The horse race still looks about the same with the pack leaders still in their same approximate Win-Show-Place positions. Still leading the polls despite frequent stumbles, the leader as the field enters turn one is Biden his time while he’s singing this siren summer song to the nation. Will it work? Time will tell.

Editor’s Note: The absence of alarming News Alerts on the flat screen about tropical storms has left me quite drained. After all the fingernail biting about Dorian’s approach, the sunny skies and refreshing breeze over Refuge Farm was in stark contrast to the 24×7 disaster porn of the last ten days. Then it brushed the Outer Banks and was gone abruptly. I feel a little let down by being so lucky. Like my Michigan Wolverines should feel after eking out a victory at the Big House over Army.
