Empire Plague Update

The above daily total COVID hospitalization chart captures the Empire’s three wild plague coaster rides since early 2020. During the third whoopy-do, we experienced 40% of the area’s total WuFlu fatalities.

That’s right – 230 plus deaths in less than three months. The neonatal ICU doctor across the street looked like a zombie when he came home after each shift. Over stiff drinks, he would wanly talk of endless hours of machines madly beeping for aid to come to crashing patients and endless intercom calls for a code team to go to room umpty ump.
In passing, he told of running out of stuff like oxygen and other things we take for granted in treatment settings. They just made do and did many on-the-fly things only seen in frontline combat aid stations. Yup, this was and may still continue to occur in this country — 21 months into this goat roping contest.

Yesterday was the first day we had zero reported plague deaths since early summer. Despite kids still getting plague sick, trends look good . . . unless and until another variant pops up.

Meanwhile, our fearless flatlining leaders cavort about with their media flack-packs over passing out more dough to a country that has tuned them out.
Time for a cardiologist visit, no? I mean for us, not them.
