In late December, my team of uniformed and civilian government workers, prime and support contractors weas wrapping up the install of a state-of-the-art multi-level secure intelligence system at the HQ of CINCUSNAVEUR, when the NSA, DIA and CIA security accreditors said we needed to fix some issues. We dutifully cancelled our travel arrangements and got the work done with the help of the TRW folks back in Northern Virgina.

We all flew home on Christmas eve, very thankful to spend the Holidays with family.

It wasn’t until following January when I realized we would have been on the Lockerbie flight.

Thanks for letting me take this opportunity to share this tale for the first time outside of my team members and immediate family. I feel blessed for the gift of all the years that have followed.
