they enter
sit down
prepared to argue
talk
talk
talk
move their arms
jab their fingers
they knock on doors
ring our phones
jam our mail boxes
infest our TVs
like people
with nothing to do
when they talk
their desperation for approval
is without anguish or worry like someone
afflicted with a nervous tic and
nothing to do
most times I tell them
to leave
and they do
I don’t feel guilty
for misunderstanding their wisdom
‘tis impossible to offend
the unoffendables
they return
they always do
sit down
prepared to argue
talk
talk
talk
move their arms
jab their fingers
but I know
that I am not the only one
who has suffered them
