Voters, like suckers, born every minute, don-cha- no
Primary candidates made us laugh, some made us cry
These nominated clowns said the others gonna make us die

 
Supporters came arunnin’ when their clown’s circus came to town
They stayed away from the tents of the opponent killer clown
TV debate masters shouted let the show begin
Send in the clowns, whispering hope they don’t do us in

 
Look around, what do we see
What’s becoming of our democracy
From California shores to New York Times Square
It’s Barnum and Bailey everywhere
 

All that was missing were rubber noses on painted faces
2016 campaign’s suicidal train wreck of a presidential race
Election day’s a ride on a nightmare merry-go-round
Let’s hope we’re not DOA after we elect this year’s killer clown
