Life & Island Times: Walking Over Miles of Bad Road
They are careless men with tired minds
Can’t see the darkness in front of them, or the light that is just behind
They insult one another while sipping fine champagne
They both should pale when they stare into the other’s eyes
Should we expect to wake up tomorrow under azure skies
Or should we be ready to flee on the last relief train
Once more standing on a gallows, the world’s head is in a noose
Any minute now, all hell could sure break loose
They both seem crazy and times are Missile Crisis strange
They are locked in tight tango with each other, hopefully we are out of range
We used to care, does anyone see that things have changed
This gong show ain’t doing us any good
These clowns are in the wrong town, should be in Hollywood
Will one mistake for a second seeing something move
Will he respond with crazy, not waitng for things to settle
Or do they see this as a test to show us their mettle
Only fools would think they got anything to prove
Lots of water has spilled over the dam, lots of other stuff has too
Stop posing for the cameras, gents, you’re only passing through
Seems like mankind is walking over miles of bad road
If the good book is right, the world will one day explode
Should we be trying to get as far away from these two as we can
Some things are too hot to touch
Puny minds can only stand so much
No one wins with a losing hand
Don and Kim look ready to wade through the fire in the lake
Don’t they seem too eager to make this big mistake
Seems like mankind is walking over miles of bad road
If the good book is right, the world will one day explode
Should we be trying to get as far away from these two as we can
Some things are too hot to touch
Puny minds can only stand so much
No one wins with a losing hand
