Swamp Postcard: Chaos on the Potomac
So what else is new? I sometimes suspect that someone has slipped some sort of hallucinogen into the big river upstream from the Emerald City. The House of Representatives may hold the Attorney General, Mr. Barr, in contempt last today for refusing to be grilled under oath by staff lawyers who work for Judiciary Committee Nadler.
Ugly stuff, but Eric Holder shrugged it off when he was the AG. He seems fine.
Not much heard from Adam Schiff, google-eyed Chair of the House Intel Committee (my old home in the HPSCI in kinder times) which is unusual for him. Normally the most dangerous place in The Swamp is the space between Chairman Schiff and the cameras.

The Russians ripple-fired their new Buluva submarine-launched ballistic missile as a test of ominous capability.
The Iranians are feeling the pinch of sanctions- and we have deployed the USS Lincoln to the Northern Arabian Sea to smack them if necessary. Remember, the economies of these energy power-houses in Tehran and the Kremlin are significantly impacted by American energy independence.
No leverage, as the Maduro regime has discovered. 900% inflation in Caracas?
If I lived there I would be wiped out by Friday. But of course, I normally am anyway.
I hope this week does not result in war with Iran or with our Russian friends, and I am hoping the Attorney General of the United States is not frog-marched to the little jail cell the House has retained down in the basement of the Capitol.
But who knows? We don’t call it The Swamp for nothing. But there is always hope that sanity could break out, and we could pay more attention to the wide world and not panic two or three times a day with the news cycle. We can barely keep up with the extraterrestrials as it is!
So with that, and all the caveats that go along with it, here is the Swamp Postcard:
