Arrias & His Muse: Weather the Weather or A Howling in the Trees
Wind is howling in the trees,
Gray sky above, clouds skid past,
Rain showers move across the swamp,
The dogs settle in for the coming blast.
Weather comes and weather goes,
Too warm, too cold too wet, too dry,
Despite protests to the contrary,
We really don’t know why.
A new ice age approaches,
A giant hole in the sky,
Or perhaps it is too hot,
The rivers will all run dry.
To believe in science
Is to doubt the expert,
History shows them as flawed,
Another theory in the dirt.
Academicians courting favors,
With Kings or Bureaucrats,
If history shows us one thing,
All men can be rats.
Before you believe some PhD,
Don’t let them sweeten you with honey,
The old adage still rings true,
Remember to always follow the money.
