Arlington, VA, Election Day Observation Posts & Beverage Specials

The Question, of course, if what to do after the vote. In much of our professional and perosnal lives that involved crowds of raucous people in places we felt comfortable here in Arlington. Most of us voted weeks ago, so we can start celebrating as soon as the coffee is claered off he picnic table. we were gratified to see a quick line-up in ARLNow by local beat specialist Katie Taranto. We are a Blue County, so any recommendation for being out in public is tempered by the fact that there will be a preponderance of progressive sentiment, but of course that can add to variety and enjoyment. Or energy, anyway.

We took out the padding from the story to save time, and this is a line up with drunk and food specials in Arlington from after you cast your ballot until the next President is declared at Busboys and Poets . In two months or something, the actual end-date not having been specified by anyone except the Crystal City Sports Pub.

Debate in the morning on strategies for later today with a lot of polling activity across the street. Some of us have elected to stay the course on
The Patio and do the normal rotation with standard medication. Others were thinking about going over to Clarendon and get a sense for the energy on the street. The ARLNow crowd did some broadcast ballyhoo on places we used to hang out, and here they are for legitimate pre-luncheon tippling. “buboys & Poets” is currently offering the best deals, since the election is unlikely to be called for a couple weeks, which is a feature deal although accommodations for rest in the process are not specified:
