Arrias and His Muse: Porter and the Frog
What is that by the door?
Porter will investigate!
Her head goes down for a closer look,
She’s in quite an excited state!
Suddenly it moves – Porter jumps!
All four feet off the ground,
Then down she comes, her head goes down,
But she doesn’t make a sound!
Another blink, it moved again,
Porter seems to jump straight up,
Whatever it is it seems to be playing,
Playing with my crazy pup!
Another jump, and another!
’Tis a big bullfrog!
He’s hopping now across the kitchen floor,
And has my pup agog…
He must have hopped as when I came in,
So I open the door and off he hops,
Porter goes back to her normal watch,
As on the couch she flops!
