We are going to actually start the new year when the snow melts here on our version of Cape Guardafui on the Potomac. It is cold enough that what fell on top of what started Monday as ice is now powdery on top and likely to be with us a while.

The Creative Section was group-sessioning and not by choice due to confinement in the Conference Room. Section Leader DeMIlle did not attempt to keep things channeled.

Vic, Vapor, Rocket and Splash had formed a little Boomer group at the table by the door to permit periodic egress. They were arguing about the significance of the new airfield on Ad al Kuri Island over in Yemen. They had all actually seen the place, since it is only about 65 miles southwest of Great Socotra Island, and had been the backdrop for one of the early group adventures against a rising Iran. Nearly fifty years ago.

“Time flies, don’t it?” asked Vapor looking at his phone.

He often thought Socotra would make a great island retreat adjacent to the busiest shipping channel on earth. Problem is a historic shortage of decent beachfront tavernas. But with smart civic leadership, it could become a little more like the port at Coronado Island in San Diego.

That came up while Melissa, Eddie and Kristina and Don from METOC- the weather guesser- were sorting out local issues. Like, yeah, we think we have a new President approved, another dozen terrorists just got sprung from GITMO with a last minute pardon. There is talk the new Administration wants a new, gigantic and beautiful piece of Legislation that will solve all the complex problems in one short, clear bill of less than 1,834 pages of double-spaced instructions.

So, that part covered a nod to the feed for clicks in like five categories, depending on how the pitch gets sent. There is some real estate stuff going on in Clarendon that is worth an informal site survey and some organization in numbers and vehicles to go over to Liberty Tavern for lunch need organization, you know?

Like, the casual first floor lounge or upstairs with tablecloths? Vapor was pleased. That added a restaurant review to the click-count and a hope to meet increased snow removal expenses.
