Life & Island Times: Caffeinated Compulsion at Forsyth Park
I was enjoying some quality coffee time at one of the sidewalk tables at the Sentient Bean. I had a fabulous view of the southern end of Forsyth Park with its azaleas in full bloom, It was the first true day of a much delayed spring here in the Hostess City. The early morning commuters were long gone, and the local college students were now well into their 9:00 AM classes.

So, I and a few locals had the place to ourselves. This ended abruptly when what had to be a tourist with an expensive custom-made coffee mug appeared from inside the Bean.
Less ten feet away from me did this forty-something, female, bag of bones dressed in $500 designer workout clothing take her station. She was hovering — not standing.
She was walking in place. Lifting her bony, be-sandaled feet just high enough, I finally figured out, to register as steps on her Fitbit which she was constantly checking and re-checking,
She did this for at least ten, maybe twenty, minutes. Was she was really exercising? Not really. I think she was satisfying her OCD. Getting her steps in. At the expense of my caffeinated azalea-serenity.
People are whacky. Their crazy is taken to new levels by their digital assistants.
