Life & Island Times: Halloween
Wassup, witches?
The tricksters didn’t start to show at our front door last night until more than a quarter of the city’s official 6-8PM period has passed. Then it was like repeated tsunamis hitting the steps to our front porch.
It was glorious with the timid, the downright scared, the bold, the grabby, and the inquisitive all finally screwing up their courage to make their approaches to our scary porch and personas.
To the wee ones and those with good looking costumes, we offered additional bonus treats – candy eyeballs, telling them they were fresh plucked from local toads and warty frogs and quite tasty this year.
Today is the Hallo part of Halloween — All Saints Day. Time to go to church. In Savannah that means this scary Cathedral.
Afterwards maybe we’ll take in a movie in this abandoned theater which is five blocks or so from our house.
Maybe we’ll catch a double feature, so we may eat all of our leftover candy.
