Life & Island Times: Savannah

As our recent spring early evening dinner preps are underway with the sun setting on the Empire, we’ve been listening to old music standards on one of our local cable music stations. The music prompted this.

-Marlow

Savannah
You’ve had a lot to say to me
You whispered here’s where my love should be
There’re many a meadow in your mists
It’s got lots of things to be hugged and kissed

Savannah
Its marches green with each coming spring
Where our hearts go journeying
Through night shadows and gentle rain
To our blossom covered garden lane
Listen to its lovely flight
You’ll hear the music of its night

Savannah
When first here, didn’t know we’d find these things
But our hearts’re now riding on your wings
So if you’re looking for them elsewhere
You oughta get on down there
Listen to its lovely flight
You’ll hear the music of its night

Oh, Savannah
Didn’t know we’d find such lovely things
So, our heart’re riding on your wings
So, if you’re searching them elsewhere
You oughta get on down there
