Ah! the legendary Nat King Cole’s “hazy, crazy days of summer” are here again. I am here to testify to that. As a chaotic prelude to the holiday celebrating our independence from a tyrannical despot, a total of five children occupied the headquarters compound of Refuge Farm.

It was fantastic to see the kids taking care of their kids- and the impact of a full action hug from an enthusiastic three year old. Are my buttons popping in pride? You bet. Want the obligatory grandparent pride pictures?

Sorry. Social media is not what it was, or was ever, and by preference of the parents involved, they would prefer there be no public record of the chaos.

They have moved on to other things more salubrious than placating the needs of the older generation. You will have to take my word on the magical nature of the visits.

Or not. Late last week, the Congress actually did something about the border crisis and threw a few billion dollars at the unfolding crisis. The ever-alert Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez traveled with the House Hispanic Caucus to the border, where she was horrified to discover undocumented migrants were drinking from toilets.

Well, that is not quite true, but nothing is anymore. Here is the solution the Department of Homeland Security came up with to get potable water and sanitary services to the detainees:

Commode on one side, since and faucet on top on the other side. Brutal, I know.

Anyway, there is no longer any objective truth except what we have at home. Antifa thugs attacked an unarmed journalist with “milkshakes” largely composed of Portland cement and roughed him up pretty thoroughly, putting him in the hospital. Their comrades have announced plans to conduct aside attacks at a free speech rally here in the middle of The Swamp on the 6th of July.

Guess where I will be? Hahaha!

Anyway, have a fantastic week and a great holiday. Have a blast!
