I don’t want to bring it up- and will lance the boils on the body politic that seem to proliferate before our very eyes. A boil, just by way of reference, is a painful, vile fluid-filled bump that forms under the dermal layer when bacteria infect and inflame one or more of your hair follicles.

I still have hair, so I will take my chances. But the non-stop irritation continued this morning with the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, spearheaded by the indomitable Rep. Adam Schiff. He is calling four witnesses today, including that wildly improbable Lieutenant Colonel who spread the story of horrid meddling by the government of Ukraine in our elections.

I got through the Chairman’s opening remarks and realized it was going to be a very long day for all concerned. But, even as an avid political junkie, I could not handle it. It was like having a boil on your butt and spending most of the day sitting on it.
