Weather Report: Down By the River

We could probably distill the Weather Report to just a few words. You know them. All the stuff jumbled up in the graphic above are happening, against all reason. Overnight, with all that there is more to put late sparkle into the day. Congress senses the national and Constitutional crises in progress and will adjourn to go back to the district to raise cash until we are into the New Year. The interesting notes are many.

We will not address the nuances of the Lawfare struggle in progress over on the other side of the Potomac. It is part of a new sort of warfare that incorporates a wired digital world. We are concerned locally with the administration of IV antibiotics and integrating the geriatric services of a few dozen MD, nurses and other providers. Weather is nice, as the odd other stuff cascades over the airwaves- the House vote on an impeachment inquiry and the wailing that followed was beyond low comedy.

Virginia’s Gov. Youngkin announced the prospective transfer of the basketball Wizards and hockey Capitals to a new two-billion dollar sports-entertainment complex to be erected at the old rail facility at Potomac Yards. He was talking with enthusiasm on the flatscreen about the public-private partnership that has been under discussion for a couple decades. It may be good for real estate values in Arlington and Alexandria. But it will hurt DC and the East Bank of the Potomac already has a boatload of trouble with crime. Always engaged, DC Mayor Bowser was at the COP-28 in Dubai to save the earth. Priorities count, you know?

Pundits popped up with “the campaign is about to begin” warnings, not realizing we have been at warp speed for most of this year, and really back to the start of the Russian Collusion circus.

So, quite a day. Anticipation of what is to come is cloaked in holiday cheer. We would like to predict a return to calm order, but as the pundits say, we are just getting going on the election thing. The Israelis apparently captured another hospital in Gaza with an arsenal of weapons in the basement. We guess that is intended to keep them nice and sanitary for use, you know? We would not like anyone to get hurt!

We watched a movie on the big screen to stay distracted. A film with Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire seems lie a reality we would prefer if we have to drive past the construction Down By The River.
